Did you know that our Sway Dress pattern also works as a swing top?
We love this double hem version, made with Linen from Miss Maude Sewing. You could also use a soft rayon, cool cotton or delicate silk. There are so many options!
For the double hem, we just cut two front and two back pieces, then trimmed one layer to be 1.5" shorter than the other. We sewed them together following the same steps as you would for attaching the facing. It's that easy!
Just make sure your seam allowance for the lower layer faces inward, towards your body, so that you can't see it peeking out from under the hem later.
To hack the pattern for your Sway top, simply crop the pattern to your preferred length and be sure to keep that curved hem.
